The moment

The day they
earned the controls.

The moment we capture is not the nervous smile. Anyone can film someone nervous in a cockpit. What we capture is the moment they know what they're doing — focused, deliberate, hands on the sidestick.

The smile that comes from "I just did that correctly."

2 hours · A320 FFS · pilot instructor present

  • 01 Cockpit orientation & briefing how the A320 flies, what the session covers
  • 02 A320 FFS — 2 hours full motion, real avionics, instructor present throughout
  • 03 Takeoff · cruise · approach · landing a complete flight, hand-flown with guidance
  • 04 Captain-led debrief what you did well, what surprised you, what comes next
  • 05 Certificate of experience proof you flew the A320 — yours to keep

Your two hours

From briefing to landing.

00:00

Welcome & briefing

Meet your captain. Cockpit orientation, controls, and the plan for your flight.

00:20

Engine start & taxi

The simulator clock starts. Bring the A320 to life and taxi to the runway — checklists and all.

00:40

Takeoff

Hands on the sidestick. Rotate, gear up, climb out over the city.

01:10

Cruise & maneuvers

Level off, turns, and a feel for how a 70-tonne jet actually flies.

01:45

Approach & landing

Line up the approach and fly it down to the flare. The part everyone remembers.

02:20

Debrief

Simulator time ends. Sit down with the captain — what you flew, how you did, and where it could lead.

Two full hours of that is simulator time (00:20 → 02:20); plan for around two and a half hours on site. Timeline is indicative — your captain tailors the flight to you on the day.

Who flies with you

Real captains.
Not operators.

You won't fly with an operator. You'll fly with an airline captain — the same people who train type ratings and sit on selection panels. Real hands, real stories, beside you the whole time. Here's the team behind Hangar 1.

Before you ask

The honest answers.

Do I need any flying experience?
None at all. The whole point is that a complete beginner can take off, fly, and land the A320 with a captain guiding every step. If you've never touched a cockpit, you're exactly who this is built for.
Is the simulator the real thing?
Yes. It's a Level D, full-motion Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator — the highest qualification level there is, and the exact device airline pilots use for type rating and recurrency training. Real avionics, real procedures, real motion.
Can I buy this as a gift or surprise?
Absolutely — it's one of the most popular reasons people book. We can arrange a surprise reveal and, with the documentary add-on, film the entire moment. Message us and we'll help you set it up.
Is there an age or weight limit?
Age: the experience suits teens and adults who can follow a briefing and sit through the session. Weight: there is no formal limit — the flight deck uses standard airline seating, so if an airline flight-deck seat works for you, so does this. For younger flyers, accessibility needs, or group and corporate bookings, message us and we'll tailor it.
How long does the whole visit take?
Plan for around two and a half hours on site: briefing, two hours of simulator time with the captain, and the debrief. The documentary add-on doesn't add to your day — we film as you fly.
Is this the same as your pilot training programs?
No. Fun-by-Wire is a discovery experience, not training toward a licence. If it sparks something and you want to go further, ask your captain about Track B — our 2-Week Pilot Training Experience.
